LFS Carolinas is a member agency of Lutheran Services in America and Alliance for
Children and Families. The agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation.
Lutheran Services in America (LSA) is an alliance of the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America, The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, and their related social ministry
organizations. LSA strengthens and adds value to the ministries of its member organizations,
facilitates ministries best done together rather than as individual organizations,
and enhances the witness of Lutheran social ministry. The national office is located
at the Lutheran Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
LSA's more than 300 health and human service organizations provide care in thousands
of communities in the United States and the Caribbean. Last year, these organizations
served more than 6 million unduplicated clients, meaning that they served one in
50 people in the service territory. Utilizing the skill and dedication of a quarter
of a million staff and volunteers, LSA member organizations provide services ranging
from health care to disaster response, from services for children and families to
care for the elderly, from adoption to advocacy.
Alliance for Children and Families (alliance1.org)
The Alliance for Children and Families provides services to nonprofit child and
family serving and economic empowerment organizations. Motivated by a vision of
a healthy society and strong communities, we work to strengthen America's nonprofit
sector and through advocacy assure the sector's continued independence.
The Alliance, formed by the 1998 merger of Family Service America and the National
Association of Homes and Services for Children, helps member agency leaders successfully
meet today's and tomorrow's challenges by drawing upon its more than 90 years of
leadership in the human services community.
With more than 350 members, Alliance for Children and Families members represent
a significant force in the human services sector. Alliance members have a cumulative
operating budget of $3.6 billion, almost 53, 000 FTEs, 7,000 board members, 58,000
volunteers and serve over 8,000 communities in over 2, 700 locations. Alliance member
organizations also have over 560,000 individual donors. In all, over 3.4 million
clients participate in Alliance member services annually.
The Council on Accreditation (coanet.org)
