Annual Giving

Each year, thousands of people support LFS through annual giving, providing critical operating funds for our array of human services. LFS is committed to providing healing and wholeness to the Carolinas most vulnerable people. In many instances that means we subsidize care, particularly when we reach out to people who fall though the cracks of the traditional human services system.

Matching Gifts

Many companies match employees’ gifts to charitable organizations. Your gift could be matched dollar for dollar. Many companies double or even triple a donation's value.

Check with your company to find out if your company will match your contribution to LFS Carolinas. If you have questions about your company's matching gift program, please contact your personnel office.

Lion Shop and Share

When you shop at Food Lion you can support LFS! Register your MVP card online with the Lion Shop and Share program. You can also call 1-800-210-9569.

Select "Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas" as your charity and every time you shop, LFS will benefit. (Remember, when looking for LFS in the list of charities select Raleigh for the city!)

Food Lion will make a quarterly donation to LFS based on money spent by registered shoppers. It's that easy! Your MVP card must be registered at least ten days before the start the new quarter to have your purchases count.

Workplace Campaigns

In North Carolina, LFS is a member of North Carolina Community Shares. During that workplace campaign, you will be provided materials that allow you to designate your contribution for organizations listed under North Carolina Community Shares. You may then designate Lutheran Family Services for your contribution.

In South Carolina, LFS is a member of United Way of the Midlands, Columbia, SC, and participates in four Combined Federal Campaigns: Trident (Charleston), SC area CFC Midlands (Columbia), SC area CFC, Greenville County SC CFC Shaw AFB, Sumter, Clarendon, and Lee Counties, SC area. Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas may be designated in these South Carolina campaigns to receive your funds.

Tributes, Memorials and Honorariums

Your gift can be given in honor or memory of friends and loved ones. Each year, LFS receives many gifts honoring the lives, accomplishments, and memories of pastors, individuals, parents, children, and friends of the institution.

Donations to LFS in lieu of purchased gifts are lasting ways to honor friends and family on special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and holidays. Memorial donations can be a thoughtful and caring way to express sympathy while impacting the lives of individuals both now and in the future.

When you give a memorial or honorary gift, you will receive a tax-deduction receipt, and the honored person, the person’s family, or the individual you specify will be notified of your thoughtfulness.
