Mountain Ridge Day Program
Anthony Robbins, Mountain Ridge HCII
Recently the residents of Mountain Ridge, our Intermediate Care Facility in Gastonia, NC, have found a lot of success with their new Day Program. Seeing a need for a program that offered more one on one attention for each resident, the staff of Mountain Ridge approached Lutheran Redeemer Church in Gastonia to start a new partnership. Since March of this year, they have allowed us use their facility.
The purpose of the program is for residents at Mountain Ridge to have the undivided attention and support of LFS staff therapeutically. The guys are now able to engage in several activities, as well as interact with the staff members to achieve specific tasks.
The day program helps residents focus on improving their socialization skills such as communicating, healthy living, safety and other daily living needs to bring them closer to becoming more independent.
Residents are transported to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. After completing a day at the support program residents are linked out into the community to interact with other peers and to enjoy leisure activities of their choice.
On behalf of Mountain Ridge and all of LFS we would like to thank the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer for giving up the space to allow LFS staff to support individuals in realizing their personal visions. Our goal here at Mountain Ridge Group home is to empower the individuals through quality services and to ensure they are happy and living full self-determined lives.
