Supportive Housing

Greater Charlotte

In every state, more than the minimum wage is required to afford a one or two-bedroom apartment at Fair Market Rent. For those who live in poverty, many are an illness, accident or paycheck away from being homeless. Daily necessities such as food, shelter, medical care and transportation are prioritized and juggled based upon due dates and earned income of the family.

LFS Carolinas works with human service providers, governmental agencies, congregations and others who offer subsidized housing in Charlotte, NC to provide community support service programs that help people become self sufficient.

Services provided include:

  • New Program Development
  • Individualized Achievement Planning
  • Intensive Case Management
  • Aftercare Planning
  • Community Resources
  • Consumer Based Workshops
  • Utilization of Volunteer Support Groups in Special Populations

These are not stand alone services. They are designed to work in conjunction with existing subsidized housing programs to offer additional support.

W.I.S.H. Program

The W.I.S.H. Program (Workforce Initiative for Supportive Housing) is a collaborative solution designed to eliminate homelessness by rapidly re-housing homeless working families in safe and decent vacant apartments and empowering them with extensive relationship-oriented, supportive services to become self-sufficient.
